Programs, zines and short manuals look far more finished as a folded booklet than as a stack of stapled sheets. The trick is the page order, which Booklet PDF handles for you.
How booklet imposition works
In a folded booklet, the first and last pages share one side of the outer sheet, the second and second-to-last share the other side, and so on. Booklet PDF rearranges pages into that order two-up on each sheet, adding blank pages if the count is not a multiple of four.
Printing it
- Create the booklet file and open it.
- Print double-sided, flipping on the short edge.
- Fold the stack in half and staple along the fold.
Several pages per sheet
For handouts that do not need folding, N-up PDF places 2, 4 or more pages on each sheet in reading order. Use Add Margins first if content runs close to the edge and the printer would clip it.
